2. Cookies and Analytics

The Website uses cookies and similar technologies to operate, secure, and understand use of the Website.
We currently use Google tagging and analytics technology, including Google Analytics or related Google services. These services may collect device, browser, approximate-location, session, and Website-interaction information. Google explains its data practices and visitor controls at https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245.

Our contact or intake form may be provided through a third-party platform hosted at matter-intake.com. That platform may use additional services, including Google Tag Manager, Microsoft Clarity, and Cloudflare Turnstile, to operate the form, analyze interactions, and prevent automated abuse. The Website does not currently respond to ordinary “Do Not Track” browser signals because there is no uniform industry standard for those signals. Where applicable law requires recognition of a legally valid opt-out signal, Peacefield will address that requirement consistent with its actual data practices.

4. Peacefield and Hanson Legal Counsel

Peacefield Conflict Resolution and Hanson Legal Counsel are separate and distinct practices, although Justin Hanson owns and operates both.

An inquiry to Peacefield is not an inquiry to Hanson Legal Counsel, does not request legal representation, and does not create an attorney-client relationship with Justin Hanson or Hanson Legal Counsel.

Peacefield does not disclose detailed inquiry or engagement information to Hanson Legal Counsel merely because the practices have common ownership. Peacefield may, where reasonably necessary, compare or disclose limited identifying information—such as the names of parties, counsel, or organizations—to conduct conflicts, independence, or neutrality checks. Additional information will be shared with Hanson Legal Counsel only at your direction, with appropriate authorization, or when otherwise permitted or required by law.

If you ask Peacefield to refer or introduce you to Hanson Legal Counsel, Peacefield will explain what information would be transferred before doing so. Any possible legal engagement must be considered and accepted separately by Hanson Legal Counsel.

5. When We Disclose Information

Peacefield may disclose personal information to:

  • Website hosting, maintenance, security, analytics, communications, scheduling, document-management, and intake-form providers.
  • Accountants, insurers, consultants, and other professional advisers supporting Peacefield.
  • Other mediation participants, counsel, sponsoring organizations, or service participants when authorized, reasonably necessary to administer an agreed process, or addressed in an applicable services agreement.
  • Government authorities, courts, or other persons when required by law, subpoena, court order, or lawful process.
  • Persons reasonably necessary to protect safety, prevent fraud or misuse, enforce agreements, or defend legal rights.
  • A successor or potential successor in connection with a merger, reorganization, sale, or transfer of some or all of Peacefield’s business or assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.
  • Other persons at your direction or with your consent.

Peacefield does not sell personal information for money. Peacefield does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If these practices change, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any choices required by law.

6. Mediation and Service Confidentiality

A Website inquiry, intake submission, or preliminary conversation may or may not constitute a protected “mediation communication” under applicable law. You should not assume that information submitted through the Website is protected by attorney-client privilege, mediation privilege, or a contractual duty of confidentiality.

After Peacefield accepts an engagement, confidentiality will be governed by the applicable engagement agreement, mediation agreement, ombuds charter, professional standards, and law. Mediation privileges and confidentiality protections are subject to exceptions and are not absolute.

7. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • Respond to an inquiry or provide requested services.
  • Conduct and document conflicts or neutrality checks.
  • Maintain business and professional records.
  • Comply with legal, tax, insurance, contractual, and professional obligations.
  • Resolve disputes and protect legal rights.
  • Maintain Website security and prevent misuse.

Retention periods vary according to the nature and sensitivity of the information and the purpose for which it was collected. We may delete or de-identify information when it is no longer reasonably required.

10. Children’s Privacy

The Website and Peacefield’s services are not directed to children under 13, and Peacefield does not knowingly collect personal information online directly from children under 13. A parent, guardian, attorney, or other authorized adult should contact Peacefield regarding any matter involving a minor.

If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information through the Website, please contact us so that we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.
